Develop a computer program Achievement Standard 91883 (version 1) Level 1, Credits 4, Assessment Internal.
Recommended HAND IN date - 26th Nov 19 (or earlier to give time for re-submission) Make a "AS91883 Assessment - Name - ID" folder in your Digital folder (Google Drive) in your 11TGN folder in My Drive.
The assessment folder should contain: 1. The MKCD file of your code (Will need to upload to Google Drive - drag into folder) 2. A video documenting the operation of your program 3. The assessment file with the code and testing
CONTEXT You may use MakeCode drag and drop or JavaScript (accessible via Code Connection) to make the computer program. It will be build in the Minecraft Education Edition (MEE) environment and the concept is a holiday activity for a destination you have researched in this course (11TGN). A holiday activity might include building a holiday home, making a swimming pool, creating petting zoo or a spanish language game. It can be any object that can by programmed in a MEE world. To gain the credits for the standard the program must meet the requirements for a computer program.
CONDITIONS OF ASSESSMENT
You are going to be assessed on how well you structure and refine your program. A well-structured, refined program will have code that is easy to follow, update and maintain, and is free from bugs.
You may work with others while discussing potential problem solutions or thinking of a holiday activity, but all of your program must be entirely constructed and written by you.
How to structure your program. What procedural structure will your program require? Will you create functions/method/procedures to improve the structure, flexibility and robustness of your program?
You must: Create the holiday activity in an iterative manner. For example, break down the program into smaller achievable parts then code, test, debug and evaluate each part before moving on the next progressive improvement. It is advisable to save each version of the code as you make progress.
Working together: If you are creating your holiday activity as a group project you need to ensure that each member of the group is responsible for a particular part of the holiday activity and that each member can demonstrate their own skill at creating a well-structured program. One possible way to do this is to have many activities but a common theme across activities. Each team member could then create an activity. In this case, you would need to discuss and collaborate on a theme and other common elements.
A video of the program in operation should be made. There are more details in the assessment document. The Screencastify extension available in Google Chrome is ideal for doing this. To add this extension 1. Go to the Chrome Web Store 2. Search for "Screencastify" 3. Add the extension to Chrome. 4. Click on the arrow symbol to activate the extension.
